Checking the latest provisional data from the Election Commission of India (with map)

After we published the previous analysis, the Election Commission of India took down their Final turnout data by state and replaced it with provisional nationwide turnout data by state.

Apart from the absurdity of replacing non-detailed final turnout data with even less detailed provisional data after an elected government is sworn in on the basis of the results they published, this data too is not without flaws.

Types of discrepancies and a key to understanding them.

Votes counted and polled don’t match in the provisional data
Votes counted and polled don’t match in the provisional data as well with the total of EVM votes counted in constituencies.
