An article made headlines yesterday. Woman takes attacker’s penis to cop
Apparently some woman in Bangladesh was molested by a man, and she cut off his penis and took it to the cops.
Naturally, this caught the imagination of many people. Also many felt vindicated about what she did. It is only too common to feel helpless rage around rapes. It is rare to hear about something like this. The post got tweeted a lot on Twitter. I tweeted too đ
I came across a person who thought it was enough. I didn’t appreciate that. I was quite happy that for once, a woman wasn’t playing victim. She had dealt with the situation, and the criminal was the unhappy one for once…. with life wrecked and all that. Not to mention future victims were safer. I did not like anyone objecting, and I made that clear.
Contrary that I am, I wanted to know why, to which he responded that 140 words of Twitter are inadequate. So, I invite him to use the comments here to write as much as he wants. I really want to know what was wrong with retweeting that article – as much as people wanted.
And I really want to know. In my euphoria, I could have been insensitive to something.
Yes, I do not agree to promotion of these kinds of news mainly from Negativity point of view.
There are many good things also happening to women and would use my resource to discuss them rather than 1 rape.I in no way endorse what happened and equally condemn the act.I am neither a feminist nor great modern thinker, im just a simple humble person trying to be a good human. Abt me i can say my wife Sharmistha still practices the faith which she did prior to marraige and continues to use her surname as she was prior to marraige. In my family have two sisters both went to college completed thier PG, one works for a bank and another is a doctor. We dont treat women folk in any special way just treat them as fellow humans.

I guess it’s rather fair that the guy got his penis cut off. He would live in misery for his whole life for the sickening thing he did. Killing him would have rather made it easy for him since most men connect masculinity with their libido. Nothing compensates for what she went through. But this is the closest she can get to the compensation.
