Public figures remembering Rafi on his death anniversary

31 years after a legend died, he is very much alive. In the memories of those whose lives touched his, and in the memories of those whose lives were touched by his music.

Very special to me was this series of tweets by Dev Anand. Rafi has sung many Dev Anand songs… and well…. they just grab my heart with their art. Both of them.
Rafis death anniversary today but he is indeed immortal and always feel he is around and in our hearts n soul I admire his voice and range

Then this song was replaced by DIN DHAL JAYE in Guide because we felt that the composition of that song was not good & shailendra wrote it

Lata Mangeshkar updated her profile with a shraddhanjali to his memory. Again, very special, because Lata has sung so many duets with Rafi, that I don’t know if any other name comes easily to mind when we speak of a Rafi duet. Immortal songs.

Mohammad Rafi’s son Shahid described in an interview his upcoming biography of the singing maestro.

‘My father gave everything to the industry because as a human being,
he was very different. He had a compassionate soul. It was difficult to
be in the industry. As an impartial observer of the movie music, I think
there cannot be another Rafi in the world. We are going to talk about
my father as a human being and as a man in the book,’ says Shahid,
Rafi’s son who announced a biography of Mohammed Rafi on his 31st Death anniversary in collaboration with Sujata Dev. The book is scheduled to be published in December.
