High tide should be around noon today. Good idea to avoid being flooded into uncomfortable positions 😉

From the sound of it, things sound normal for #mumbairains Most roads clear of paranoid people, usual suspect… (cont) http://deck.ly/~SywkT

The general guide is when our area gets some signs of flooding, it is time to scuba at Milan subway.

The Mithi is a whole other game. People have occupied the river bed and turned it into a gutter. It dishes it right back in monsoons.

Rain slowing to a drizzle. Feeling disappointed that the drainage will get a lead. I hope it picks up again.

Nothing like a week of torrential rain to turn the screws on municipal lazies and their garbage store drains. No one can argue a flood away.

Waitaminit why are tweeps whining about #mumbairain and not BMC+govt? Garbage doesn’t rain from sky to clog drains!

Waitaminit why are tweeps whining about #mumbairain and not the planning of the city that dams a river with “development”?

Waitaminit why are tweeps whining about #mumbairain and ignoring that traffic jams are because of bad and undrained roads, not water?

Very funny. I’d been calling up Nanavati to cancel today’s appointment, no one picking up. Now they called me and got angry for not calling

There should be a map of Mumbai for flooding and traffic for easy references. Small markers of paddleboats or scuba and stuck fish in sea

There is plenty of water in the world. Just look at how much has been pouring from the sky for days now. Now to use wisely.

We have cases pending for ages. Why not have more courts? Fast prosecution is a big deterrent against all crime including corruption.

I would love to see a day when courts have little backlog and people know cases will get tried and concluded rapidly.

Big racket in market. Guy wanted rickshaw to take ill mother to hospital. Driver refused. Guy bashed him bad before some people pulled them.

Beating the rickshaw driver is wrong, but the ones in parle are really bad. Most refuse at whim, but charge extra at night for inconvenience

Not fair to refuse passengers to many places. Some say that they take really short fares and earn better profits from minimum fare.

http://post.ly/31Pez – Remember I had talked about our building scaring me that it will collapse? 10 min ago this happened.

My parents are quite concerned, because the water tank is right above the part that crumbled off. It makes it more worrisome.

http://post.ly/31PhS – The leakage had just eroded the beam kind of thing. Fell with massive clatter.

The building is due for redevelopment, but many old people don’t want hassle of shifting, more maintenance, etc so stalled.

The building is about 40 years old.

That part had been damp then leaking for decades.

I’m thinking of having emergency stuff packed and ready at least. I figure it is not paranoia if it comes true. If it doesn’t that’s great.

Well… It isn’t open to the sky. Only a part has fallen. Besides there is the entire water tank on top.
