Highland Holiday Homes Pvt. Ltd.

Yesterday, my mother-in-law got a phone call from “Bajaj Electricals” which is a well known company in India. She was asked three questions (which she answered wrongly). Her answers were declared correct and she was invited to claim a gift vouchers from some “Bajaj office” in the evening. It sounded like she was getting to select from a variety of goods up to a value of Rs. 4,000/-. She was busy and my husband and I went instead. What we found was a royal scam.

We were supposed to land up in the basement hall of the Great Imperial Palace Hotel in Teili Galli in Andheri (6th Sept 2007 – in case anyone wants to investigate this further). We entered to find a variety of couples engaged in different degrees of conversation with salesmen of varying degrees of aptitude.

It all began with a smooth talking salesman writing a lot on bits of paper creating flowcharts and lists and sweeping them away to create more on new pieces of paper. We were explained how Bajaj has plenty of ventures like Electricals, motors and god knows what else, and now there is a new one – Highland Holidays. This of course was total bull shit, as none of their papers had anything to do with Bajaj beyond its being the surname of one of its founders.

I think its an obvious scam when the name Bajaj Electricals was directly used by them to generate a sense of credibility. Then came too good to be true offers on holidays (which may or not be real, but certainly smelled like a rat). We were offered 8 days a year for 10 years for an “initial investment” of Rs. 42,000/- Needless to say neither of us were about to part from our cash. which eventually got negotiated to a “mere” Rs.14,000/- for 6 days for 5 years.

What got me itchy and suspicious and getting on google search immediately on returning home were these things:

  1. The phone call itself pretended to distribute gift vouchers for Bajaj Electricals for three correct answers, but offered them even when the answers were wrong
  2. We are not listed for any schemes, contests or anything, and the organizers had no clear answer for how they got our number.
  3. Nowhere on the location was any banner related with Bajaj (which is the name we were expecting to find) to be found. We honestly stumbled upon the event while enquiring about it.
  4. Bajaj Electricals, the name used to draw unsuspecting people to the event – was in no way related to it, nor were any gift vouchers from Bajaj electricals distributed.
  5. For a company that seemed to have gone through great effort to book a venue and organize individual presentations for participants, there was not a single piece of printed paper they actually gave anyone. No visiting cards, no printed documents of schemes, no nothing – not even mobile numbers.
  6. It was clearly specified that the “outstanding offer” was open only right then, and the answer had to be yes or no on the completion of the presentation – no going home and taking a day to think or anything (more likely – no investigating this company for reliability)
  7. The “gift vouchers” were for a holiday for two at one of some specified locations, where we still would be expected to be paying money.
  8. The “presentation” itself was more like street haggling, where you are offered higher investment opportunities and when they are refused, cheaper ones come up.
  9. Why would any reputable company have an investment opportunity open for an evening where a decision is to be made without looking at any offer document, without any verification, office address, official representatives, or even simple visiting cards? The way I see it, if they can’t afford a basic official set up, my investment is unlikely to be safe with them.
  10. Strangely, even their “managers” who came in to dramatic effect with approvals of surveys, and special offers, etc. didn’t even bother to provide surnames. I have yet to see any professional investment related thing being presented or negotiated without any written documentation or proposal of the exact offering and terms for consideration before investing in it. No official venue, no visiting cards, nothing.
  11. For an investment related event taking place in a hotel, not even tea or coffee was offered. We were asked if we wanted water.
  12. In short, they were simply trying to his susceptible people and get money out of them as fast as possible.

The sad part is that I found some middle class couples and one really aged one taking these offers very seriously. I hope for their sakes that this offer goes against all logic and turns out to be genuine.

  1. Membership sold based on false information

We were at Goa. One Person Name Sagot has given us voucher for promotional offers, in that we got an Holiday Package. Then he told us we need to visit the Highland Holiday Office to attend a company presentation to avail it, we were glad and went their office. They presented their membership scheme for a holiday timeshare system with lot of other benefits. We found the membership scheme quite beneficial based on their information and opted for a 5 years, 8days per year membership, costing Rs. 50, 000/- ( Rs. Five Thousand Only). We later came to know that all the information provided was false and the company had cheated us into buying the membership.
The following false information was given in the presentation.1) We had purchased the membership on a 12 months EMI plan, using HDFC credit card(35,000/-) and Citibank (15,000/-). The sales person claimed that the company has a tie-up with HDFC and Citibank,  the payment would be converted EMIs, and the interest, service charges and service tax would be borne by Highland Holiday Homes. On inquiring with HDFC and Citibank, we were informed that there is no such scheme available and they have no tie up with Highland Holiday Homes.2) I have been also informed in presentation by  Mr. Zayed Shaikh (Manger, Goa) that, if I am not satisfied with the offer in feature, within time span of 12 months I can cancel  my membership.– But that was all fake, today I called them (Lisa – 02226434627) saying, I am not happy with your services about the EMI, I want to cancel my membership, then she clearly said please read out your document there is written that you cannot cancel the membership, I was shock to hear that, I requested them, they said you can sell your membership to some there, but I said not I cant who will buy from me.Then She was very arrogant and said do whatever you want do,  will not cancel your policy, regrading EMI will refund you interest rate, but I said whats guarantee and every month I have to ask for refund and if not paid i am not sure of this, after hearing all the lie from them.3) For document part they said one more lie that, what we say will be completed documented, but I am sure what they say is not documented (we trusted them that was big mistake, I am very upset companies in India doing such fraud). They took sign on paper involving us in lite chat, generally we trust them and also they create such an atmosphere that hardly who not visited them refuse the membership. Kind of  Hypnotism.4) If they give any assurances in feature will not believe on them, I know they do that. Team, I need my 50,000/- back please help me, me and my wife are  very much in tension. I am not the only one whose suffering, many of them are suffering from this.I am not sure but, as per  Consumer curt also its written that we do not use their services and utility we have right to cancel the policy. Please help me.

  19. Just thought of sharing my experience.
Last week ie on 14th, I requested a booking at any available resort in Maharashtra. The booking official (who was obviously aware of unethical business practice of the Co) informed that room is available at Panchgani and asked for the utility charges of Rs 1000/+10.3% taxes. I agreed. Today I got a call from them asking for further Rs 500/- as my son is more than 7 years old !! The original offer from this Co is for 2 adults n 2 children. So I presume that for this Co adult hood starts a bit early. To take up the matter with a senior official, when I requested, prompt reply is that they are very busy!

  27. Hi All,

Internet has really broken all geographical barriers and it serves as a marketplace where the reach of businesses has become vast.

Thank you so much for all your feedbacks. Yesterday I also got this call from a lady who asked me 3 general knowledge quetsions and in return of the correct answers offered me a gift voucher for Rs4500/-. SHe kept insisting that we dont have to get any money, no investment, etc. But all this was very fishy so I decided to check about the same on the net and got through this website. Its all so nightmerish.

So would like to thank you all for all the help.

  29. Dear all HHH victims .. I read all the comments and share the same agony as all those who have written their cheated experiences. I had taken this offer for Rs. 20,000 for 3nights/4days per year in the year 2001. I was promised a payment of Rs.4500 (rent 1500/day) for next 12 years, if I dont stay in their one of the 4 resorts. For a member this stay was supposed to be free. The venue was near sona theatre, borivli(w).
Now they are speaking different language. They are not willing to rent out on our behalf and pay us rent money. Also they charge utility charges of 550/day.
We should unite and take firm action so that either they fulfill their promise paying rent money or cancel our membership and pay us back our money with interest.

  39. Dear Vdyut

you are no one to delete my scrap i think u may be also one of them

its not ur money which is got wasted its our money so u dont no the pain if u are the admin why cant u take any action against this crook , i can give their address from where they are operating , they have a office in khar west and they have venues in Niraml Life style , ghatkapor mall, Raghuleela kandivali in pune and many other places let see what action are u taking

  40. Pratish,

Its really awful the experience you are having with HHH. I don’t know what action is currently being taken against them, if at all any is being taken, but I assume that consumer courts should be able to help. I don’t have the legal savvy about PILs, but I would say that it seems to be a shady scenario in any case.

Never having actually given them any money, I don’t know how much of a help I can be, however, if you wish, we can add a post here with common information for people who want to get together about it and see if that helps. I may have contacts who could guide us if things get to a point that enough people want to take action.

    Good Luck.

It might be a good idea to seek ways you can secure your investment before running afoul of these guys though. I imagine that once you resort to any legal action, the battle lines are drawn and then they may be even less inclined to refund your investment.

    Vidyut

  41. Sangeeta, I have deleted your last comment. Please note that this is a family friendly place and use appropriate language, or I will have no choice but to moderate your commentsa and delete all inappropriate language or block you from here.

I understand that you want to see justice happen, but abuse will not create any change other than ill will.

  42. I too am a victim of HHH. Unfortunately it was my parents you got trapped in thier fraudulent net. They seem to have started thier ops at Prime Mall, Irla and not knowing this scam, my parents paid 17k for 3 years membership.

Now, firstly thier commitment of a new resort in Goa is a distant dream and i came to know how crappy thier lonavala resort is. So to utilize the money my parents put in, i asked for the list of thier affiliated resorts. Let me assure you that the list is full of 1 or 2 star hotels. The only decent one that came from the list was Saj Resort in Mahabaleshwar.

So i called thier Khar office and gave them the dates i was looking for. Whatever dates i asked for the answer from HHH was – no availbility at the hotel. To verify the answer, i called up Saj and they had plenty of rooms available for those dates. So one thing is certain that they probably have just one room’s quota with these hotels.

After this, i gave them 5 different optional weekend dates which were 30-45 days later – but same answer – nothing is available! Tired of denials, i asked them to give me 4-5 different options of weekend dates that are available – same answer – everything is full for the next 45 days.

Last attempt was to make a reservation for dates after 45 days or 2 months in advance – now thier answer was stunning – ‘ for Jan booking you can only call us in DEc’!

So basically when i will call these scammers in Dec for Jan bookng, they will tell me everything is full! Obviously refund is something they wont even offer and i am glad an initiative is taken and also suprised that despite so many victims of HHH, this fraud co is still active and kicking.

I want to write this to the the media and publish this in Mumbai mirror or Mid-day, etc. Does anyone here have a known contact which can faciliate this?

    Should we file a PIL?

  43. Dear All

Please dont be cool we are not here to give our hard earned money to this people who fools us , we should teach them a lesson o too got fooled by this people , but let me tell you one thing this people are still doing this show in various part of mumbai last time i have seen them in nirmal life style but they ran away when they saw me , And the above post which is done my sanjay , He himself his the owner of the company his name is Sanjay Bajaj . Again a Fake he is a sindhi and staying in cheenai , He is big fraud , , Dear all i a Memer if MNS in mumbai Lets all join together and vandilise their office in Khar and teach them a lesson , And their is lady in offfice her name is abida who is again a big fraud ,

Sanjay if you are reading this article please run away from mumbai dont come back . its a warning other wise see consequence

    Sangeeta
    MNS
    Jai Maharashtra
Dont ever fool our mumbai people

  44. If Blogger do not want to adhere to basic decency in the posts, it is better not to continue with- I am not used to this. Believe me I am not any way connected to HHH. I am a victim.
Viduit, I was trying to mention that HHH is trying to fool people like any roadside vendor who sells same item to different customer for different prices depending upon the customer.
In second para I want to justify that it is not worth spending 35000 for getting HHH membership for 35 holidays over 5 years. It costs almost 2500 per day.
If some has realy solid plan for recovering money from HHH, please share with others

  45. Hi Sanjay,

I agree completely that HHH seems to be very shady. Which is exactly why I wrote this post. Forget 35k and whether its worth it, I don’t know if any investment is safe with them.

I don’t think you are connected with HHH at all. If you worked for them they would have fired you for criticizing them so much…. so anyway you wouldn’t be working with them. I don’t know why Ramesh thinks you work with them. I guess he didn’t read your posts before hurrying to write.

Good to know that you are back.

    Vidyut

  46. Okay everyone, thanks for the appreciation, and I’m glad that people have found value in this post. Sanjay and Ramesh, COOL it!

This is a post not a court of law or battle. I’m letting these comments stand for now, but if things get uglier, I’m going to delete everything you have posted. No need to get personal.

Sanjay, please note that your comment is getting me utterly confused. On one end, you are agreeing with me, on the other, you are abusing. Do figure out what you want to say and say it in a way that’s less pissed off and more understandable.

Ramesh, what in the world gave you the opinion that Sanjay works for HHH when he is criticizing them? Also, this is an open blog and people from HHH are also free to come and read/write. Please mind what you write. This is a family friendly blog.

  47. I think that SANJAY himeslf is from High land holidays….Because it is a real Bull**** company…and I am going to do a complaint about them….Sanjay F*** off….

  48. I don’t believe in the last two comments in favour of HHH, if they are doing guinine business how can they offer same package for 45k,35k and 14 k to differeent people.
Considering 70k as the value of investment of 35k for 5 yrs, you are getting 35 holidays @ 2000/- perday. Adding 700/- service charge effective rate is 2700/-. One can easily get similar kind of hotel anywhere in India for 2000 to 2500/-

  49. sushil kumar shah

    Hi friends,
even i m agreed to ramesh pandey.

I am also a member of highland homes. . i become member last year. as we like to go for holidays very often. we realy feel its very good holiday package & good quality hotel & resorts. recently i had been to there lonavala resort. its realy wonderful… me & my family enjoyed alot.. its a realy homely atmosphere & we didn’t feel that we are in any resorts or hotel.. the food quality & the rooms were fantistic with swiming pool. & i just paid the very nominal amount for that. while coming back we had enquired in 1 hotel, same kind of rooms for .. the tarriff 2500/- (without swimming pool).
i would realy suggest someone to take the membership & enjoy quality holiday in very budget money.

IF YOU COMPARE HIGHLAND HOLIDAY HOMES & CLUB MAHINDRA OR COUNTRY VACATION, THEN THE BEST I FEEL IS HIGHLAND HOLIDAY HOMES. AS ITS VELUE FOR MONEY WHAT YOU PAY FOR HOLIDAY. ITS NOT WORTH TO INVEST LACKS OF RUPEES FOR HOLIDAY MEMBERSHIP, I AM VERY MUCH HAPPY FOR WHAT I PAID IN HIGHAND.

all who got cheated please lodge a complaint at mumbai crime brach i hope u will get the refund s

  54. Friends,

I have also got a call from them today. They have setup an office at Nirmal Lifestyle Mulund (2nd Floor, Opp Fab India). They are calling themselves as Bajaj Highland Pvt Ltd (Chennai). They have invited me to come at 4 PM in the eve to collect my gift vouchers. I am definitely not going!!

I am not aware of this company also. When I asked about the company to the executive he told me that, they are in to advertising and computer parts! But, still I didnt believe and curiously just logged on to Google and searched and found a load of posts and reviews on this! And then I got it that it is a Holiday Company.

But, I am wondering about the human nature. We all are very fascinated about the word FREE!!! I will never go to any such FREE schemes without enquiring about the company background. I am surprised that innocent middle income people have joined this without any detailed knowledge of the company and the product.

A very big scam of Suman Motel has already happened in India, still we are doing the same mistakes.

I think the only Indian Company in this industry which is genuine is Club Mahindra. Now, Country Club has also come up, but they are pretty new so can not say anything. If you check Club Mahindra or Country Club also, just educate yourself about the concept of time sharing holidays and the memberships, there are n number of costs involved like initial membership, yearly maintenance, occupancy based on the seasons, you will have to plan your holiday at least 6 months in advance, refund is just a gimmick, etc. You should also check about the resorts/hotels they are offering. At least make sure that they are RCI affiliated. Check the review on the google, mouthshut, etc. Check SEBI/BSE/NSE site and see if company is listed and what is the financial status.

As Club Mahindra is backed by the giant Mahindra Group, your money will be secured. Country Club is giving some land with membership, so at least you have the backup. But, still all these memberships are very costly. If you calculate the membership, yearly AMC, food charges, local travelling at those places, to and fro train/air from your place, etc, then it will come to at least 3000-4000 per person per day, so your weekly holiday will always be somewhere near to 40-45K per couple!

So, be prepared for this cost If you want to get in to any of these holidays memberships. Like Club Mahindra or Country Club, it is worth, as their properties are world class and at least 3 Star, so If you really like to spend a week with your family at some very great location and in very nice resorts, then it is worth spending.

But, remember one thing, plan your holiday well in advance and of course NOTHING COMES FOR FREE – The Golden Words!

  55. Hi All.
I also have taken holidays from HHH. I have no choice other than using it. I have tried lonavala resort. I found good.
I and my friends would like to go this monsoon to lonavala resort. I booked for me (around Rs 600 a day). I could not book for my friends as same member ship can not be used for same dates.
If any one is interested to exchange holidays with my membership or sell please contact me at amu700 at gmail.com
    Thanks. Amuthan.

  56. hi all

  57. hi guys,

this ia one more story where i got false commitment from sells person form highland resorts. i got a commitment to convert my 40000rs in to 9months EMI with 0%processing fee and 0%interest but when i called there customer care they said that they have not given any commitment to me. and she was ready to give me 10% of the ammount that i am going to pay to bank.

later i ask to brach manager i want to talk to siddharth who gave me commitment for the same. she said i cant give you his number. and she said give me the application and then i will give revert back to you on within one week of time..

i want to go to court but again this is not the way we have to go collectively so that that will be more effectively.

here i my email id for pune people shrikantvc@gmail.com… please let me know anybody want to go with me

  58. Hi i m member of highland holiday homes at pune. i m very much satisfy with the services. I have paid 55000/- via ICIC Credit Card(9 months EMI) & become a member on 15 mar, 09. & while taking membership only i understood the booking rules. as we have to book holidays 1 month advanced i.e. they start booking form April, 09 for May, 09. means i can call up on 1st April, 09 for any dates in May, 09. so i have already enjoyed my 1st holidays at RGBC – GOA, the resorts was fantistic, its realy good velue for money what i have paid.
Thanks to HIGHLAND HOLIDAY HOMES PVT. LTD.

  59. I had written a details email here, but the webpage did not load it. Oops, it was so important that I was sharing their address, well, thats fight, we can’t give up. Here’s their Mumbai Address;
I don’t have their postal address but I can give exact directions,
It is Khar West very close to the station. So come out of Khar Station on the west side and walk outside straight. You will see a Kabutarkhana, from there take your right. It is 3rd or 4th building on your right. You will see one IATA agent’s board, and from there a staircase goes up, their office is on the 2nd floor. On first floor there’s some bank.
If you still have some confusion then you can call them tactfully on
    26496714, 26496705

I am also a victim, obviously, and I am going to sue them. We can come together, you may join me or I will join you.
I will first suggest that we visit them on a certain day collectively, so it will give good impact.

    Sanjay Sharma

  60. hi,dis is cheten,im the of highland holiday homes from last 5 years,i regularily visit the the reviews, but to my surprise from last 5 years i never had any bad experince of the company n not only me so many other people also who are members for the same never had any problem,i get bookings on time, property are well maintained, hence at times i feel y people write about them for me all the negative reviews turned out to b baseless,im happy n will strongly recommend others 2 enjoy the benifits

  61. Ayush,
I am also cheated by BHH for 35000/-. your post has shown a ray of hope for refund. can you tell us what is total amount you had paid for fighting case in consumer court and on what basis the case stands because we have signed detailed one sided agreement with BHH.

  62. Hi Guys
I am Ayush, a software engineer from Bangalore. Like you, me and my fiancee were also duped by so called holiday resort group – Highland Holiday Homes. They cleverly made me pay 25000/- in August – 08. That time i was in a fix, i wanted to go to consumer court but didnt know much about it.
But after asking some friends and finding an advocate, i filed a complaint against them. and now i have got my money back!!
Court ordered them to give back 25000/- + 4000/- compensation. These crooks has only given 25000/- till now but then i have filed one more petition for 4000/- again and i hope i should get that too very soon,
What i want to say is, please dont wait for anyone and go and file a case against them.If your advocate is genuine then its not so complicated as it seems. I used to go to the advocate on some weekends and that too for 15 minutes to sign the petitions, rest he took care. It took me 4 months but i got my money back with compensation(yet to come).
Anyone who require any information please do contact me @ 91-9986027646
if anyone in bangalore and wants an advocate, trust me this guy is genuine – Name: Manjunath, #: 91-9844393962

  63. Today, 5/2/09 there is a meeting in Pune at the following location. Guys, you can try your luck to get hold of them. The address is as follows –
    Highland Holiday Homes,
    Peacock Restaurant Basement,
    Opp Hotel Apsara, Hirabaug Chowk,
Tilak road, Nr. Jayshree garden, Pune.

  64. sir, some one has posted today that they are called to attend the meeting to collect the gift. What we require is the venue where the meeting has been arranged. If they could forward it it will be better.

  65. I also got a phone call today,01.02.2009; from a lady called Vidya, who asked me three questions & told that if I answer two of them correctly, I shall be eligible for a gift voucher of Rs.4500/-. When I asked them from where you got my number – she said thru MTNL data base which was a lie. Then my wife had a hitch that this is a scam but I said lets go & see what the tamasha is about. But I also developed a hitch & then went to browse the net & lo! I got a load of information on the lovely offer on the first of the second month of 2009. However I was not very excited about the offer as I have gone through various credit card offers who impress a lot with their offers but nothing comes in writing. So ultimately my browsing gave me more gyan about this deceptive offer. Thanks to you & various contributors who have provided this eye opener.

  66. Narayanan,
Their office is in Khar, near the station in Mumbai- Jagdeep Cottage is teh name of teh bldg. You may search for them on google and will find their address.

  67. I had obtained for this company’s membership almost 7 years back, with lot of offers. I could not visit any of their resorts due to pre occupied schedule. But the method even in those days were same, as you people have specified. Only thing is that, they use to clarify that (if asked) it is not of Bajaj Appliance’s nor their sister concern. Their office was earlier in Bandra near ROTI restaurant at Md. Rafi Marg. Their resorts as per them were under construction. I last traced them a year back, near new mumbai. Some how I could not follow them up thinking that the company is in existance/alive. We can trace them as their office must be somewhere in Mumbai only. I will try again and post the address if found.

  68. Abraham David Jehoshapat

    Dear Brothers & Sisters
I recd a call from a girl called Ms.Sonali Sawant on 19/12/2008 stating the same features as listed above from Baja Highland. asked 3 questions. Answere them. Free gift voucher for Rs.4500/-. U hv to come in person with spouse.
She gave her phone number as 022-22910661. Since i had already some bad experience with similar company called New India Concept regarding marketing of house-hold products, I decided not to go for the meeting. Not only this ype of cheating is happening but there are many fraud persons who generate new varieties of ideas to cheat common man. We are all greedy for anything which comes free of cost. We want easy money without putting much efforts. The devil has laid the trap through such fraud persons to deceive common man. Look upon the Almighty Heavenly Father THE GOD, and lift your hands to HIM, who shall fulfil all your needs and bless you abundantly.
    GOD Bless You All.

  69. I was also victim of this…please punish them…and take legal action to the person who is calling giving fake gift vaucher….govt should fine them and keep them for imprisonment for life.

  70. Hi All,
I have also being duped by this company. They are nither giving bookings on requested dates nor are giving any available dates. Would like to know if anybody is taking any legal action against them. Would like to join in.
They sold me give years 7 day package at 31000. Part of it 15K is on ICICI Bank EMI. Just want to check can we stop paying EMI. Will that help.
    Mayank

  71. T’day I’ve recd. a call from them for the same thing, I happened to take 1/2 an hr. time fromt them and came across this review.

They are having a same session today at Citi Mall Shopping Centre Office No. 104, Next to Fame Adlabs, Andheri (W). Tel.no. 22910661 . I spoke to a lady called Ms. Sandesha.

I’ve been saved from this scam. I hope other people will also. I thank somebody should take the police,e tc. and catch them red-handed. They have asked us to meet between 6.30 to 7.30 p.m.today.

Kindly pass this on to many innocent people who will fall prey to this scam of theirs.

    JOANNA

  72. I agree with all the points above, I have also paid 39k and could not use for 2 years, when I try to book there is no response from this office. It looks like all false promise been made. Due to the recession you can get lots of hotel/resort at throuway price now. Foreigners are cancelling the bookings, you can imagine the fate of the owners where the demand has gone down 30-40%.

If they are not false they should come forward and provide the best service atleast to make their stand.

    Shivanand

  73. Hi All

We are also a victim of this scam . We lost Rs. 35000 /- for 5 years
domestic package. How to get our money back ?
We had applied for membership of Highland Holiday Homes Pvt. Ltd. and paid Rs. 35,000 through credit card with an assurance i.e
    1. from there will be rental facility enabling the consumers to get Rs. 1000 per day on holidays rented.
2.The utility charges of Rs. 550 per day/ per room were fixed for the entire contract period.
3.Contract amount was spilt into 18 months EMI from SBI bank EMI option and the entire interest portion (14%) will be paid by Highland Holiday home.
    4. Any point of time we can cancel this membership and they will refund the balance amount.

This turned out to be a fake promise. Please let me know what should I do and get my money back.

    Thanks

  74. With ref to Mr. Sanny’s mail, I tried sending a notice to them through ICRPC but still HHH have not taken much action. They are not giving full refund. They told me that i can take legal action. We need to fight a court case jointly to get our money back.

  75. Even I got cheated of Rs.31000. i am not able to utilise this facility nor they are renting out the days. i thing we can go to the consumer court. there is one succes story i got from the net which is given below. I think we all can take the same route.

there is success story in http://www.icrpc.org/icrpc.org.success2.htm

Highland Holiday Homes Pvt. Ltd.: Refunds money

    24) Mrs. & Mr. Vishwajitsinh H Gohil of Bangalore (9900120023) of Mumbai had applied for membership of Highland Holiday Homes Pvt. Ltd. and paid Rs. 33,000 through credit card with an assurance from there will be rental facility enabling the consumers to get Rs. 1500 per day on holidays rented. This turned out to be a fake promise. ICRPC sent a notice to the company and asked for immediate settlement. The consumers received full amount on 9-2-2007.

  76. hi every one,

I hadn’t realized how many people have had these experiences.

I’d like to share here that I have just shared my experience with them, and have no contact with them since then, so I have no clue where their office is, or indeed if they actually have one.

I also have no authority to legally do anything against them, since I didn’t actually invest any money with them.

Also, I want to share, that if you have invested with them, don’t go by this post alone. Many people here seem to have invested and now scared just because of this post. If you are getting the holidays you wanted and everything is as it should be, don’t panic just because you have invested and some people here have had a suspicious experience. Find out your options, initiate conversation with them and see how you can enjoy what you have paid for. Don’t worry unless there is a problem.

Jayant, I would appreciate it if you respected that the comments are space for conversation and not advertisement. I fail to see how your adventure services are relevant to Bajaj highland holidays. I understand that you would like people to know about your services, but it is not polite to push them into a conversation about something else. There are plenty of posts here which are relevant to what you offer and will have meaning to the reader and generate interest for you. I’m letting this comment be, because I don’t believe in censoring what my readers write. Just asking you to respect this space.

  77. Dear all Friends,

Third lesson — Educate / circulate the same to your near and dear ones / relatives/friends immdly. Try to protest through media.

Fourth lesson — For stress management — Nature is best place — to know your five hidden elements — come to us and undergo some soft or hard adventure workshops as per your choice.

Please dont mind becasue I do respect your emotions and care for your hard earned money.

  84. Hi All,
Thanks for this review. It really helped me save my money as today afternoon I got the same phone call from a girl belonging to Bajaj Highland who asked me 3 questions and told me that my answers are right. Then, she has asked me to come to some basement of some hotel near Jayshree’s garden in Pune. I said I would confirm after sometime. I searched for the name “Bajaj Highland” on google and I found this review.

    Thanks a lot everyone

  85. Wow Anu,

I am so glad that you were helped actively by this review. I showed this comment to Raka (my husband) as well, and he was amazed too. What a coincidence to have you calling your brother and him being there and good research on your part!!!

Honestly, I don’t really know much about this company, and it is possible that their offers are valid, though it seems unlikely from what the responses here contribute as well. My post is mostly about my experience with them, and the wariness I felt while dealing with them.

Good for you though. With that attitude of looking carefully before making decisions, you have a strength many of us wish for.

    Vidyut

  86. Dear Kalyana,
Today morning my mother a senior citizen(70+) ,got the same phone call and she went with my father n fortunately my younger brother happily to their office. By God’s Grace I just happened to give them a regular call while they were across the table.
So my brother came out to talk to me & told about the phone call ….we decided to call after 5 min & I immediately opened the net ‘Google Search’ to find its validity/reviews…where i found your review….that saved my parents money as well as their hopes being crushed when they would find out the truth.
I appreciate your ‘Gracious’ act of helping people.
    Thanks a million,once again.

  87. Hi,

I got the call and decided to go and visit their place in Pune. I started asking questions-
    1. How did you get my number? ANS: Your banks, Mobile Providers, Central Govt Database and Binary (Referal) – I have no relatives who could refer, my Utility Providers cannot share my data due to my written application – Privacy Act. Interesting
    2. When I started challenging THREAT to my Privacy, they directly offered me the gift holiday package – I denied, I told I need to understand what I’m getting, why etc
    3. They have lots of First Year, Part time Employees who have been doing the job
    4. Lots of rough, poor quality papers, much explained above. Attractive Offers.
    5. I had investigated the Promoters – They had been penalized in 2001 in Green (Teak Scam) and have history of Collective Investment Scams to cheat Common People.

    REF: http://www.sebi.gov.in/legaldiary/02/legalmarch.pdf

I’m taking this to Local NEWS Paper in Pune.

  88. Hi Kalyana

From the way you describe it, you may find help in the consumer courts.. While it is a hassle, it might help bring such people to notice and protect future victims.

  89. Kalyana Chakravarthy

    Hi,

I am Kalyana Chakravarthy, who too have been duped by these people(Highland homes). I booked for two rooms and two nights at Tirupati thru Pune office of theirs as I stay at Pune. I paid money for both. I was alloted only one room. We checked out in the evening not ven completeing one day.
When I went to Pune office for refund of fare for one room which I had not used, they state “We have offered you two rooms, but you preferred only one.Hence we cannot refund that.”
I told them the resort staff had stated that only one room is available.
They say “You should have fought with them or called us”. I told them that we reached Tirupati at 12:00 am in morning. How can we call you at time. They close by 5:30 pm to 6:00pm.
Still they adamantly insist they will not refund for extra amount they charged.

    Regards
    Kalyana

  90. Hi Sophia,

Thank you for sharing your experience here. I hope that you were able to get either value for your investment or a refund.

You might want to try going to the place from where your parents signed up. The people there might know how to find them.

Also, it is important to make a police complaint, so that your complaint is on record.

    I hope this helps.

  91. All things written about Highland Holiday Homes is very true. They really turned out to be Liars. All their promises and offers are fake. My parents got cheated by them and are under a loss of Rs.30,000 – which is a total waste.Every word they spoke and every facility they explained are lies. They were in such a hurry for the payment, giving us no time to read any documents. Innocent looking young people were used for their marketting – who ofcourse had great skills and did a smart job of cheating many families.
I am in a fix about how to deal with these cheaters.
