‘Let us unite’ – चला, एकत्र येऊ या!’

Noted senior writer Nayantara Sahgal was invited to inaugurate the 92nd All-India Marathi Literary Meet (Sahitya Sammelan). However the organizers cancelled the invitation suddenly. This incident was denounced at many levels and in various ways. In the Literary Meet itself; cancellation of the invite was denounced. Many boycotted the Meet as a way of protest. However this incident has sent a message across the world that Marathi persons have insulted a noted senior writer. Agony of this will remain in the minds of Marathi persons forever.

We want to apologies Nayantara Sahgal about this shameful incident and we want to welcome her in Marathi society. We i.e. Writers- artists from Marathi Literature and art field and literature lovers have come together and arranged a program in the presence of Nayantara Sahgal to welcome her. This will be held on 29 January 2018 at Shivaji Mandir Dadar in the evening at 7 pm titled ‘Let us unite’.

This program is a get together of all Marathi speaking literature and art lovers. No political person, party or organization has organized this program. There will be no chief guest for this program; neither will it be inaugurated by anyone. It is a spontaneous gathering which has support from the all the corners of Maharashtra. Along with Nayantara Sahgal many Marathi writers and eminent persons from art field will also attend this program. Bhalchandra Nemade, Pushpa Bhave, Dr. Ganesh Devi, Harishachandra Thorat, Arun Khopkar, Sunil Shanbhag, Chandrakant Kulkarni, Rajiv Naik, Yeshu Patil, T.M.Krishna, Sidharth Varadrajan, Pradnya Daya Pawar, Jayant Pawar, Dnynesh Maharao, Sandhya Nare-Pawar, Samina Dalwai, Anant Bhave, Amol Palekar, Atul Pethe, Kishor Kadam, Indrajit Khambe, Dr.Vivek Korde, Ganesh Vispute, Sanjiv Khandekar, Subodh More, Ashutosh Shirke, Avinash Kadam are some of the noted writers, poets, artists and thinkers who will attend this program. Many more are likely to join it.

This program is open to all readers of Marathi literature.
We will make an appeal to come together to upheld the freedom of expression on this occasion.
