Business Management colleges should learn from Vibrant Gujarat Summits

A mind boggling 21,000 MOUs appear to have been signed at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit this year. Considering that this was a three day event and assuming it covered 12 hours a day and assuming people were signing MOUs left, right and center from the word go, it computes to a mind boggling 9.7 MOUs per minute or about one MOU signed per 6 seconds – every minute of the event.

Unless this is a “Narendra Modi rescues 15,000 Gujaratis from Uttarakhand floods” type news, it probably took a whole team of people to even record any MOUs happening accurately, let alone facilitating. Gujarat Government should disclose details of how they enabled such a miracle in the interest of enabling business knowledge in India.

I am a complete dud, so if any reader wants to explain even the basics to me in the comments, I’d be much grateful. Questions particularly plaguing my curiosity are:

  1. What is an MOU and what goes into signing one?
  2. Which are the parties that have to sign/witness it?
  3. How are signed MOUs recorded?
  4. How much time was actually provided for this signing?
  5. What sort of staff arrangements had to be made to even make something like this possible?

Many thanks.

  1. Anybody can do this elementary school mathematics really. Why didn’t you put in the extra effort to give us those actual stats & evidence yourself. These are public facts not something like Guarded secrets or anything. Questioning supposedly fudged numbers all while desperately hiding sinister undertones is no better than the act of fudging facts that is under scrutiny. If mere questioning is all u can do, I’d say u r in grade 1 of Journalism.

“I am a complete dud” Oh! I beg to differ, u are so full of yourself you probably don’t even realize. If there is somebody that provokes a bigger puke from me than the BJP, it’s the extreme liberals masquerading as centrists like u. Congrats, u r just another branch of the same tree that bears BJP.

  2. This all points come to my mind at first understanding of the huge amount Memorandum of Understanding(MOUs) signed at this event specifically Vibrant Gujarat Summit:-
1)Invitees have been showing faith and they have total hope in N.Modi that they are ready to accept the plans and agenda.
2)People have known him as a Global Icon who is continuously making changes in Constitution,Laws and Acts which will be suiting easy for trade and its fast movement.
3)People are coming under the inlfluence of Media,Masses,Newspapers about the good doings of his Govt. (No doubt he must be doing) but since then no one is bothered to find out what actually is the highly confidential plan behind developing only and only Gujarat and not other backward States.
4)Media,Newspapers,Social Networking Sites have made total use of N.Modi as advertisement or the other way round (for his campaigning)
5)Foreign Investors are showing keen interest due to way the Gujarat and they alson know that Gujarat is a good Commercial Centre and knows that CM can do anything to bring in the best for its state. They are seeing Gujarat as a potential outcome but overlooking the others. And so it is bad and threat to other states and mainly the commercial centre Mumbai since Nothing is being held(such as this Business Events)which will bring Investors closer to India.

MOUs are signed for the bilateral understanding of the people that they may help in the situation by easing trade facilities, investment, etc.

The time given to them to sign MOU were till the end of the show.About 3-4 hours maybe.

Local Support of the state is must for something to be taken place and if it is a huge Event you will need extra security, masses and etc.

As a result, I don’t find good for other states as the only thing is leering looked at is Gujarat,Maybe the greed or whatever but he is a Prime Minister.
