Today was Rafi’s 31st death anniversary, and 31 years after he has been dead, the people speaking up in his memory were so many, that I had difficulty handling the data. Split into two posts, but still most of the evening and later is not compiled.
This, then is the outpouring of love, awe and memory of the man who put soul into anything he sang. And that soul has stayed with us. This man cannot die as long as there remains one person on earth who has heard his songs.I want to mention here that this is by no means a complete compilation. I have actually left out most tweets that didn’t say anything not said or shared a resource already shared, etc. This man reached across class, caste and religion with his words, today is the vibrant assertion of how he also reached across time.
